Arlo named in All Stars side

TALENTED young cricketer Arlo Herry has been named in the Under 15 Western Waves All Star team.

Herry earned selection in the Waves’ side after consistently strong performances for South West at the recent Country Week carnival.

In round one, South West faced Mt Gambier.

Herry was dominate with the ball, taking 1/14 from two overs and was unbeaten at the crease reaching six runs from as many deliveries.

Round two against Warrnambool Gold saw Herry make an impressive 32 runs off 60 deliveries in an innings that included five boundaries.

Round three, against Hamilton Gold, he was again strong with the ball, taking 1/17 off four overs.

South West’s round four match against Hamilton Blue saw him finish with figures of 2/19 from eight overs (including three maidens) and score 11 runs from 35 deliveries.

In the final round of the tournament, Herry and his South West team-mates faced Wimmera.

He made an impressive 48 runs from 35 balls (including seven boundaries) and took 1/15 from two overs.

According to proud mum Nicola, Arlo finished Country Week with 102 runs (at an average of 34) which made him South West’s top scorer.

He also took five wickets for the week.

Arlo is currently playing with Bookaar Cricket Club.

Fellow South West cricketer Max Rees (Pomborneit) was also named in the All Star team.
