GORCAPA calls for local feedback
THE Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCPA) want to know what local communities value about the coastline.
ORCPA strategy and transformation manager Mark Davies said the authority was excited to begin “managing, protecting and fostering resilience” of the coast and parks along the western stretch of the Great Ocean Road in partnership with Parks Victoria and Traditional Owners following the recent land management transfers in Port Campbell, Princetown and Peterborough.
“Continuing the great work of the two volunteer committees of management in caring for the recreation reserves in Princetown and Port Campbell, we’ve run working bees at both reserves and are planning an additional working bee at both sites over three days in early September,” he said.
“Our team will once again roll up their sleeves on important maintenance tasks within the reserves on Wednesday, September 4, Thursday, September 5 and Friday, September, 6.
“Repairs to the Rocket Shed roof in Port Campbell will follow.”
Mr Davies encouraged the community to contact the authority about future management plans.
“We would love to learn more about what the Port Campbell, Princetown and Peterborough communities and stakeholders value about the coastline and what aspirations there are for the future use of the land,” he said.
“This will help us to understand the areas and shape our future management plans.
