The two sides will meet at the Camperdown Lakes ground from 10am on Sunday.

According to Cobden coach Chris Walsh, the Knights are hungry for another premiership flag but are expecting a tough battle, with both clubs claiming a win each in the home and away season.

“We’ve met them (Bookaar) twice this season and we’ve each won a game,” Walsh said.

“We took home the flag last year and Bookaar the year prior so we’re quite evenly matched.

“South West’s under 16 competition has four clubs so we all play each other twice before finals.”

Walsh was full of praise for his young side, saying they had showed great improvement and consistency throughout the season.

“With a very young team, the boys have been incredible all year with their commitment. Win, lose or draw the parents and club are proud of what they have achieved and we’re excited to have the opportunity – what will be will be,” Walsh said.

“Each and every team member has contributed to our success this season.”

Cobden’s under 16 side comprises Lenny Walsh (captain), Eamon Sloane (vice-captain), Max Slater, Monty Darcy, Ben Vogels, Clem Walsh, Josh Roberts, Mikie Benallack, Ryan Bailey, Jack Couch, Lochie Hayes, Rhys Darcy, Tyler Bailey and Leo Slater.
