Club member Marie Van Den Broek said the incoming president for the 2024/25 season was Tony Tesselaar.

She said on the night outgoing president Russ Davis handed over the Gavel and Gong, as tradition dictated.

“Judi (Oakes) inducted lions into their new positions within the club in a record breaking short ceremony,” Mrs Van Den Broek said.

“Members and guests had a terrific meal and fellowship at the Simpson Ball and Chain Hotel.”

On the night, club member Max Begely welcomed Mr Tesselaar into his new position as club president on behalf of the club.

Mr Begely was pleased to present a reflection of their time together in Lions, which spans almost two decades.

Mrs Van Den Broek said Mr Tesselaar was taking on the role of president as well as treasurer for the year ahead.

“Club members are looking forward to his year, with the focus being on keeping up our work in the community on projects that our members can contribute to, and making sure the work/social balance is kept in check,” she said.
