Unbeaten 166 for Baker

BOOKAAR’S Simon Baker dominated the Timboon wicket last weekend smashing his way to an unbeaten 166.

The Pelicans’ opening batsman gave Heytesbury Storm plenty of trouble on Saturday, knocking up a consistent 166 runs from 144 deliveries, with an impressive strike rate of 115.27.

Having won the toss and elected to bat, Baker and his team-mates notched up 2/349 in their 50 overs before going on to restrict Storm to 10/155 by the 45th over.

Baker was well supported at the crease by team-mates Eddie Lucas (77) and captain Lachlan Green (56).

In reply, the Storm’s Chris Vogels was top scorer for the side with 22.

Best of the bowlers for Bookaar were Louis Darcy 4/46 and Tim Fitzgerald 3/20.
